BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Jad Bou Monsef is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon and Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He completed advanced fellowship training in spine surgery at the Mayo Clinic and performs surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Maimonides Medical Center. He sees patients across multiple Brooklyn locations through University Orthopaedic Associates and Maimonides Bone & Joint.
Dr. Bou Monsef treats all conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine, with advanced expertise in minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures, complex revision surgeries, and deformity correction. His clinical and research interests include degenerative and traumatic spine conditions, osteoporosis and osteosarcopenia, cervical deformity, and the application of artificial intelligence in spine care. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his research at national and international meetings. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, and participates in medical mission work through Global Spine Outreach.
Dr. Bou Monsef brings his surgical and diagnostic expertise to the medicolegal arena, providing independent medical examinations and causation analysis for attorneys and insurance professionals throughout New York. His active practice managing complex traumatic and degenerative spine conditions gives him a current, clinically grounded perspective on the injuries and surgical decisions most commonly at issue in personal injury, no-fault, and workers compensation matters.
